Lessons from the ICU days

Some of you know that I almost died when I was in ICU (Intensive care unit) at the hospital many years back, some don’t, but I made it through, hence I am blogging now to share with you.

ICU was a ‘surrendering process’ for me, yet it was a ‘remembering’ process, like the two sides of the coin.

I fall into darkness repeatedly, I wake up and fall back into the sleep, over and over again.  This repetition of sleeping and walking many times a day for the whole duration of 3 days and nights is a surrendering process where I learn to ‘end fear’ of the darkness.  Where I get to become comfortable with ‘fear’ of the darkness, which I associate with death.

Darkness = Death

Like they say, “practice makes perfect”.  I was practicing dying, over and over again, until I feared no more of the darkness.  I did not physically die, but it was a surrendering process that melts fear away so that I cross over from darkness into light and light into darkness.

  • Surendering fear
  • Remembering life

I will be sharing the memories and messages from my ICU days for the following days.  Keep the curiosity going!
