Fear, we hear it in psychology, the fight or flight response.
We need to know what happens before fight or flight to get a clearer understanding of fear.
Before the fight or flight response, which is ‘conditioned’ because we have made up our decision on what to do when we feel fear. That is when fear, we instinctively fight or when fear, we instinctively flight, run away. As in FEAR-FIGHT or FEAR-FLIGHT. What happens before the conditioned response?
We FREEZE.
What is happening when we freeze? We are listening to advice from our left or right brain hemispheres, like a Parliament House, where both sides get to debate for each side, then a decision is made, but in life, the world moves on while we freeze, which can in emergency that need instant response, we can end up like the kangaroos on the read, where the light from the car temporarily blinds the roo and get run over by the car.
Just remember, when fear happens, we can do 3 things: FIGHT, FLIGHT, or FREEZE.
We should be conditioned to FLIGHT, to get out of danger’s way. As a grandmaster once told me, it is best to walk away instead of fighting.
