Trusting oneself is the key to solving problems in life.
As a baby is born, we learn to move our arms and legs, then stand and walk, basically by learning to trust our ability to learn. No one teaches the babies, but they are amazing, they manage to move, then they copy from their parents how to talk and eat. The trust, the curiosity soon start to drop as the baby grows; thereafter, the self-trust is conditioned out of the child over time. How does the self-trust leave the child?
- Parents will get angry and scold them for the wrong way of doing things; we have to do things the way parents want to.
- Parents will bring back the past mistakes to remind them of the wrong way they did it, this is how you do it, the parent’s way.
The child begins to avoid scoldings and avoid reminders of mistakes by trusting the parents’ way as the only way to do things for fear of being wrong. Some will even fear making decisions for fear of being yelled at, hence they leave the decision-making process to the parents.
The child goes to school, they are graded, right and wrong, the right gets a high score, the wrong gets a low score. The child learns to trust the teachers, the parents instead of trusting oneself. This continues on to work, the police, government. Basically, everyone else is the trustworthy ones; we no longer trust ourselves, except for getting the coffee at Starbucks, they trust that they can make the right decisions to get the right coffee with the choices we have to jump through to get the coffee. I still remember, coffee being coffee, then there is the sugar and milk on the table, you add your own. Now, you have to answer so many questions before you get your coffee.
- Trust self simply means, “I CAN”;
- NOT trust self, trust others means, “I CANNOT trust them”;
We need to re-learn, to remember how to trust self again to clear our problems away!
Remember: “Before we CAN do, we began with CANNOT DO”!
We can TRUST them, but even they make mistakes, just that we don’t know about their mistakes, while when we make mistakes, we know our mistakes. TRUST SELF does not mean that we do not make mistakes, it just means, the more we trust ourselves, the fewer mistakes we do.
Learn to TRUST yourself again, if we want to change our lives for the better!
It is all just a matter of trust, self trust!
